1. Purge, Donate & Re-organize

Regularly purging unused items from your home can help make room for more meaningful items. It’s amazing how much clutter can accumulate over time. It’s neverending at my house.

Taking the time to organize and go through your belongings helps to make sure that only the most meaningful items stay in your home. It can also be a great opportunity to give away items that are no longer in use, and make room for items that you really need and love.

Regularly purging is a great way to help you stay on top of your organizational needs.

I’ve made a habit of purging at least once every couple months.

Donating these items to local charities or thrift shops can also help those in need and reduce waste. If you’re the type of person who loves to stay organized, this is a great way to clear out your closet!

Not only can you rid yourself of clutter, but you can also give back to your community at the same time. It’s a win-win situation! So, get sorting and start donating your pre-loved items!

Places to Donte:

  • Goodwill
  • Local Thrift Shops
  • Salvation Army
  • Homeless Shelters or Women’s Shelters
  • Someone you know will benefit from what you’re giving away.

Quick Tip: Post items for FREE on Facebook swap sites. You never know who really needs what you have.

2. Prioritize Your Clutter Areas

Start by assessing your space and prioritizing which areas need to be tidied up and organized. Everyone’s home is unique, so organizing your home should be a personalized experience.

Begin with a plan and set realistic goals.

Tackle one room at a time, beginning with the most cluttered. Once you have an idea of what items you want to keep and what needs to be donated or recycled, it’s time to get to work!

Have fun with it and don’t be afraid to get creative while organizing your home. You may be surprised at what you can make out of an unorganized room.

Quick Tip: Utilitize old baskets for new storage.

3. Break down the task into small, achievable goals.

Start with one spot at a time and focus on clearing out the excess items and sorting them into categories. Once that area is organized, move on to the next spot. Before you know it, you’ll be able to proudly say that your home is organized!

Organizing your home can greatly enhance the quality of life. Designating specific places for items and implementing a designated location system are some of the simplest yet most effective ways to ensure that everything has its own spot.

By taking this approach, you’ll have an organized space that makes it easier to access items when needed and put them back in their designated place without wasting time searching for them.

5. Get Stuff Off the Floor!

Hanging items on the wall instead of keeping them on the floor can free up a lot of space in a room.

When it comes to organizing, getting things off the floor is the a very important step. Whether it’s hanging a picture frame, artwork, or a shelf, the possibilities for wall-mounted organization are endless.

Not only does it free up space, it also makes for a visually appealing way to organize your items. So don’t be afraid to think outside the box when it comes to organizing – your floor will thank you!

6. Set Up a Home Organization System

Establish a clear and simple system for organizing items in your home – it’s the key to avoiding the clutter chaos that can quickly take over.

Labeling boxes, baskets, and shelves can go a long way in helping you create an organized space. Color-coding items can also be effective for keeping things in order.

Quick Tip: Use a Label Maker or Cricut to make labels for your things.

And don’t forget to regularly declutter and donate items you no longer need. With just a few simple steps, you’ll be able to maintain an organized home that you can be proud of.

Taking the time to organize your space will not only make it easier to find things and make cleaning much more efficient, but it can also help to alleviate any stress or anxiety you may feel about your space being in chaos. Trust me, you’ll be so glad you took the time to organize!

However, it doesn’t end there. Organization does not come easy and it’s important to follow up with regular clean-outs and maintenance to ensure that your organization system remains effective and efficient.

After all, maintaining organization is a never-ending process, so don’t get too comfortable with the level of organization you receive from your initial efforts – you have to keep working at it!
