The Best 7 Board Games for Preschoolers. Playing board games with your preschooler is fun and educational. We try to have regular game nights at our house, and our 4 year old loves to be involved. It can be pretty hard though to find games for such a broad range of ages from preschoolers to teens. So we try to keep games on hand that are geared towards preschoolers as well.

We’ve had a great time playing board games with our preschooler as well as our older kids. Today I want to share with you 7 games that your preschooler (and you!) will enjoy. Little Ones Want to Play Board Games Too!

Your little ones can enjoy a board game just as much as older kids or adults. There are games that are geared specifically towards their age range. Plus, they are educational!

My son always wants to join in on Triominos. (One of our favorite games to play.) But, since he can’t understand the complexity of the game, he just can’t play it. So he gets upset that he can’t join in. So recently I’ve started collecting more games to remedy that.

It can sometimes be hard to find decent Board games for Preschoolers.

Don’t get me wrong, there are some really fun games for little ones. (As you will see later in this post.) But, I’ve noticed that some are just plain tacky.

There are dogs that poop and farting games. Little ones think that stuff is hilarious, but I just don’t want my son to be playing those kinds of games all the time. We can have a fun time without the potty talk. We have enough of that on a regular basis with this boy. (Tell me I’m not the only one.)

All of the board games I listed above are great for 3 year olds with the exception of The Treasure Hunt Game. Any games that practice matching, counting, or colors would be fitting. You’d obviously want to avoid anything with too many complicated directions.

Yes, a four year old is very capable of learning and playing board games. You may want to start out with something simple, and avoid playing games with overly complicated instructions.

Most 2 year olds probably won’t be ready to play a board game. But around 3 years old you can start picking up board games geared toward younger ages such as Gone Fishin’ or Count Your Chickens.

The last thing you need to know about picking out board games for Preschoolers

Next time you are at the store or browsing Amazon, pick up a new preschool board game to try with your little ones. They will absolutely love it.

Picking out board games for them should not be something hard or stressful. Sometimes it’s just trial and error. So, you will never know if you really like it until you try it.
